I know it is a daunting task in picking a photographer for your wedding day. It is one of the biggest commitment you’ll make for your wedding day, and there are so many factors out there- budget being the major factor. But there are other things you should consider as well. I will list a few below. Obviously, I’d prefer that you hire me 🙂 OBVIOUSLY! But I understand that I’m not going to be a good fit for every client. Anyway, here are some things to look out for-
- You should like the photographer’s work. Yes. That sounds obvious. But I know couples that look for the cheapest, without digging deeper.
- The honest truth is that photography is a big investment. Notice I said INVESTMENT? You have to look at it that way. So consider how big of an investment you want to make.
- Ask to see a wedding album and/or a full gallery. That goes back to my first point- if you like what you see, most likely you will be a good fit for that photographer.
- Sometimes just go with your gut feeling.
These are just a few things to look for. Wedding blogs and bridal websites will have a longer list of things for you to ask your wedding photographer (“like what type of camera do you use,” “describe your style of photography”), you can ask those questions. But they’re irrelevant if you don’t get along with your photographer. Right?
